Comments Now Available for Daily Logs in ConstructionOnline™

UDA Technologies is excited to announce that Comments have been officially added to Daily Logs in ConstructionOnline, bringing enhanced collaboration and communication to one of the industry’s most critical documentation tools. Modeled after the popular Comments systems already in place for Client Selections and Change Orders, this update enables project teams to conveniently manage conversations directly within the Daily Logging feature.

With this enhancement, ConstructionOnline users can now view and add Comments to individual Daily Log entries, streamlining project communication and improving transparency across teams. Users will find a familiar and intuitive experience, including:

• Segmented Comment Threads that separate company, client, and team communications
• Permission-Based Visibility Controls that ensure users only see relevant comment threads
• Unread Comment Indicators, including blue and green comment icons, to draw attention to new activity
• Comment Counters that display the number of comments visible to each user on each log

To facilitate this new functionality:

• A new Comments tab has been added to the Edit Daily Log modal
  (Note: Comments tab not available during initial log entry/creation.)
• Daily Logs in the Day View now display comment icons that show the number of visible comments and indicate if any are unread
• Hovering over comment icons reveals convenient shortcuts to “View / Add Comments” and access additional log actions

Permissions and Visibility Tailored to User Roles

ConstructionOnline ensures that comment visibility aligns with user access levels:

• Company Users can see all three comment segments: Company, ClientLink (CL), and TeamLink (TL)
• ClientLink Users see only the Company and ClientLink threads
• TeamLink Users see the Company and TeamLink threads, and thread content varies depending on their individual permissions

Additionally, the Add New Comment section dynamically displays icons for all eligible users associated with the project based on their role and permissions, providing seamless team tagging and collaboration.

Integrated Across the Platform

To keep communication consistent and accessible, Comments for Daily Logs are also integrated into:

• The bell icon notification center in the ConstructionOnline top navigation bar
• The My Agenda Comments widget
• The Comments tab in the Latest News / Help & Support blade
