Improve Construction Job Costing with Enhanced Costbooks Integration for Change Orders

Written by UDA Corporate Newsroom | February 26, 2026

ConstructionOnline™ has introduced new enhancements to its Change Order functionality, highlighted by integrated Costbook support within Multi-Line Change Orders. The update strengthens job cost accuracy and improves efficiency when documenting project changes.

By connecting standardized cost data directly to the Change Order workflow, ConstructionOnline continues to refine how construction teams manage scope adjustments and financial tracking.

Integrated Costbook Functionality

Multi-Line Change Orders now support integrated Costbook functionality. When entering a line item name, matching Costbook entries automatically appear for quick selection.

This enhancement allows teams to reference established pricing structures directly within the Change Order entry process. Smooth search and scrolling performance—when Costbooks are available—ensures users can quickly locate and apply the correct cost items without interrupting workflow.

By reducing manual entry and reinforcing cost consistency, the integration helps teams maintain tighter financial control throughout the life of a project.

Enhanced Import Tools Preserve Scope Detail

In addition to Costbook integration, the Import Template for Multi-Line Change Orders now includes a dedicated Line Item Description column.

This update ensures that imported Change Orders retain detailed scope information, preserving clarity around the work being added, modified, or revised. Maintaining descriptive detail during import supports stronger documentation, clearer communication, and more complete project records.

Structured Construction Change Management

Detailed Change Orders are included in all ConstructionOnline subscriptions at the Pro, Team, Business, and Enterprise levels, providing structured, multi-line change tracking for projects of any size.

With these enhancements, ConstructionOnline continues to strengthen the tools construction professionals rely on to manage project changes with greater accuracy, visibility, and control.
