Key Updates to Geolocation Services Enhance ConstructionOnline's Time Tracking Toolkit

ConstructionOnline’s industry-leading Time Tracking toolkit has received a powerful update, introducing enhanced geolocation features for both our web-based platform and companion mobile application, CO™ Mobile. These updates provide construction teams with increased visibility and control over employee time tracking, ensuring greater accuracy in workforce management.

Advanced Location Tracking Controls

  • Company Admin Users may now require that Location Tracking be enabled before an employee can clock in via the mobile app.
  • When enabled, Location Tracking is continuous throughout the duration of an employee’s shift, rather than only at Clock-In and Clock-Out events.
  • Users can now "Set a Schedule" for Location Tracking, designating a Start and End Time for active tracking each day.
    • Location Tracking will only be active within the designated schedule or when the user is actively using Time Tracking.

Team Map Enhancements

  • The Team Map view now displays the latest available location for all employees who are On the Clock, offering real-time workforce visibility.
  • New and improved location markers ensure greater clarity:
    • Green location icon: Start Location
    • Red location icon: End Location
    • Orange location icon: Any location data outside the 20m radius
  • The Time Sheet Overview now includes a Map View to visualize available tracked location data.

Expanded Manual Time Entry & Location Geofencing

  • Users can now manually create time entries directly from CO™ Mobile.
  • Geofencing controls allow Company Admin Users to enforce Location Tracking before employees can Clock-In.
    • If a user’s Location Services are disabled and this requirement is active, Clock-In/Clock-Out functions will be disabled until Location Services are enabled.
  • CO Mobile now offers an "Enable Background Location Services" option, ensuring continuous Location Tracking during active shifts.
    • The app will attempt to fetch the current location of the device approximately every 15 minutes in the background.

Dark Mode Support & Additional UI Improvements

  • ConstructionOnline’s Time Tracking toolkit now supports Dark Mode, optimizing the mobile experience for various lighting conditions.
  • The Time Sheet Overview includes a refined Map View displaying location data with enhanced clarity:
    • Blue Markers: Clusters of two or more location markers.
    • Orange Markers: Tracked location data, combined into a single marker per user if within the 20m radius.
    • Green Markers: Clock-In location.
    • Red Markers: Clock-Out location.
